Switzerland isolating and controlling migrants in 2019

A new asylum law came into effect on the 1st March 2019 in Switzerland. In or-der to guarantee “faster, more efficient and fairer” asylum procedures, 16 new federal camps for migrants will be built.
We want to look critically at this development towards increased exclusion, control and administration of people. To this end, we will deliberate on the history of Swiss migration policy, embedding the current changes in Switzerland into the global system of borders and migration regimes, and we will look forwards to a future where through resistance we can work towards a world of solidarity.
